About Us
G.R.O.W. was established in 2021 by Dr. Kaschor and a dedicated and diverse group of women who believe that every child deserves to grow up safe and loved. As parents ourselves, we understand how difficult, and sometimes terrifying parenting can be, how incredibly rewarding it can be, and how important it is.
Each of us has had our own struggles through parenting - whether infertility, pregnancy complications, post-partum mood, anxiety and psychosis, adoption, poverty, isolation, intimate partner violence, divorce, housing insecurity, chronic disease and more.
Having to navigate health and social services is challenging when we are at our best, difficult in the haze of hormones and emotions that go along with pregnancy and parenting, and nearly impossible if poverty, mental illness, substance use, or other barriers are added.
Almost 1 in 4 people in our community do not have access to a family doctor or primary care provider. Most that do are told they can only have one issue addressed per visit. The answer to most issues, most of the time, seems to be more medication. Our minds and bodies are more disconnected than ever.
We don't think it should be this hard.
And we don't think it should depend on what part of the city you live in, what your income is, or the colour of your skin.
Every mother and every family deserve to be valued, respected and listened to.
Every child deserves to have a parent or caregiver who can offer guidance, respect, and unconditional love.
But as a parent, how do you give what you've never received? How to do teach what you don't know?
We get it.
We were never meant to parent alone. We were never meant to know it all.

Our team takes the time to understand each family, their needs, and works with them to address issues that prevent them from being the parents they know they can be - parents that build the strong, deep roots of connection that their children need to one day spread their own wings and thrive in their own lives.
